New roof installation in Windhoek

A new roof in Windhoek is designed against three things at once: intense highland UV, a wide daily temperature swing, and short violent rainfall. Details that survive a coastal drizzle are not automatically enough here.

On a new build we work from plans or a sketch. That is why the quote form asks for drawings rather than damage photos when you say it is a new build.

  • Work from plans, elevations or a clear sketch
  • Fixing density and edge detail set for the site's exposure
  • Falls, outlets and upstands designed before the membrane goes down
  • Careful tie-ins between new and existing roofs

What's happening with your roof?

What the work involves

Pitched sheet roofs

Sheet length, fixing density and lap treatment are set for the exposure of the site. Ridge-to-eave runs on hillside plots need more fixings and better edge detail than the same roof would need on a sheltered stand.

Flat concrete roofs

On flat roofs the waterproofing system, the fall to the outlets and the parapet upstand height are decided before anything is laid. Outlets sized for a gentle rain are the single most common design fault on new Windhoek flat roofs.

Extensions and outbuildings

Tying a new roof into an existing one is a flashing problem more than a covering problem. The join between old and new is where these roofs leak, so it is detailed properly rather than sealed over.
